No one like being a victim of fraud, It’s something not easily forgotten and often leaves those who suffer to ask the question “How can I avoid this in the future. well, the Information is your strongest weapon.
The first thing,Google the domain (Try adding words like stolen, scammer), asking other domainers about the domain in question, Go ahead and ask for more information, confirm your doubt. The biggest single indicator of a potential scam is the price. A scammer will want to price the domain low enough that it sells before he gets caught. Keep a watchful eye on new members. Recently modified whois is another warning sign. If other indicators are present (ex. extremely low price), proceed with extreme caution.

Hello,

Are you interested in sale of your domain? Please name your price.

We are in hosting and domain business. But we are very interested in
Internet names and web sites too.

If you have other domains for sale feel free to send your list.

Looking forward to do business with you.

Regards,

{Different person and email address}

Can you accept X,000 USD?

Do you sell domain with a web site or just the name?

Domain without content is ok with me. Web site is not necessary.

Have you had your domain names evaluated in the past? I mean domain appraisals. Without valuation we cannot be sure in the sale price. It’s very important for me in terms of reselling too. But we must engage a valuation company with REAL manual service. So I will only accept valuations from independent sources I and my partners trust.

=====

RED: Take a Wild Guess..  REAL manual service is owned by the scammer.

Thats really same scam, same scammers(and same email Template,format and Scheme since 2007!)..
The scammer sends email to you, offering to buy your domain name for a percentage of the appraisal price..
